Inventory (Verifying Reality)

Inventory (Verifying Reality)

What inventory really is

Inventory is not scanning.

Inventory is answering one question:

“Is this asset where it is supposed to be?”

How inventory happens in the system

Inventory can be done using:

  • RFID handheld
  • Barcode scanner
  • Manual confirmation (if allowed)

During inventory:

  • Assets are scanned inside a location
  • The system compares:
    • expected location
    • detected location

What inventory produces (THIS IS CRITICAL)

Inventory produces status, not just data.

Assets change color:

  • Green → correct
  • Red / Orange → mismatch
  • Black → missing

What you explain:

“This is not guessing — it’s verification.”

Inventory acceptance (why it matters)

After scanning, the system decides when inventory is accepted:

  • after full inventory
  • after building
  • after floor
  • immediately

Client-safe explanation:

“You decide how strict inventory validation should be.”
