Reading Between the Lines (What Customers Don’t Say)
Reading Between the Lines (What Customers Don’t Say)
Purpose of This Lesson
To help you interpret signals, not just words.
The Difference Between Words and Meaning
Customers rarely say:
- “We are afraid”
- “We don’t trust this yet”
- “We lack authority”
Instead, they say:
- “Let’s think about it”
- “We need internal alignment”
- “Send more details”
Your job is to interpret, not argue.
Common Hidden Meanings
| What They Say | What It Usually Means |
| “Send a proposal” | They want justification |
| “We’re comparing vendors” | They’re reducing risk |
| “Not now” | No urgency |
| “Budget is tight” | Risk not justified |
