Why Most Demos Fail (And Why It’s Not Technical)
Why Most Demos Fail (And Why It’s Not Technical)
Purpose of This Lesson
To remove false beliefs about demos.
The Typical Failed Demo Pattern
Most failed demos:
- Start with login and menus
- Show everything “just in case”
- Answer every question immediately
- End with “Any questions?”
This creates:
- Cognitive overload
- Passive audiences
- Price comparisons
- Decision delay
The customer leaves knowing how the system works, not why it matters.
The Real Purpose of a Demo
A demo is meant to answer one question only:
“Does this solution clearly address our problem in a safe and practical way?”
If the demo answers anything else, it is noise.
