Handling Stakeholder Conflict & Misalignment

Handling Stakeholder Conflict & Misalignment

Purpose of This Lesson

To help you navigate internal resistance without taking sides.

Common Conflict Patterns

  • IT vs Operations
  • Finance vs Operations
  • Audit vs Everyone

If you side openly with one group, you lose the others.

Neutral Positioning Language

Examples:

  • “Let’s align on the shared objective first.”
  • “The goal here is control and clarity for everyone.”
  • “TFAM is meant to support all functions, not replace them.”

Neutrality preserves trust.

When to Pause the Deal

If misalignment is strong:

  • Slow down
  • Educate
  • Re-align expectations
  • Do not push to close

Forced deals fail later.
