Knowing When to Pause, Escalate, or Stop

Knowing When to Pause, Escalate, or Stop

Purpose of This Lesson

To protect deals — and yourself.

When to Pause

Pause if:

  • Objections repeat
  • No urgency exists
  • Decision makers are absent

Pausing is strategic, not weak.

When to Escalate

Escalate if:

  • Objection is political
  • Authority is questioned
  • Senior reassurance is needed

Escalation should be calm and planned.

When to Stop

Stop if:

  • No problem exists
  • No risk is acknowledged
  • No authority is present

Walking away preserves credibility.
